The Inspirational Learning Group are delighted to be working with the award-winning Staffordshire Business School to set a unique enterprise programme for young people across the Midlands.

The programme, which will be delivered using a hybrid of physical and virtual delivery methods, will involve approximately 1,000 young people from 20 colleges and sixth forms in the Midlands and is designed to help learners make informed decisions about their future. Focusing on core skills such as organisation, problem-solving and leadership, the programme will also introduce learners to Staffordshire Business School’s range of new courses; BA(Hons) Digital and Social Media Marketing, BA(Hons) Business Management and Sustainability, BA(Hons) Finance and Business Enterprise along with BA(Hons) Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Providing learners with a detailed insight to contemporary business themes such as Sustainability, Business Ethics, Climate Change and Digital Disruption, the new courses have been developed to shape industry experts of the future.

Starting with a 60 minute workshop, the programme will cover topics such as; the value of a degree, what employers are looking for and how to develop key skills, ensuring learners have the information they need to make choices about higher education and their future ambitions.

Following this, learners will be set a real-life business challenge by Staffordshire University graduate Steve Cranston, Creative Director at Lilac Howell Films. This programme, culminating in a virtual finals event, will see learners developing a new 60 second advertisement for a local business of their choice with the aim of promoting SME’s in the local community.

When asked about the project Co-Founder of The Inspirational Learning Group, Michael Dyer, also a  Staffordshire University Business School graduate, said “We’re delighted to be working with the Business School and giving back to colleges and sixth forms in the Midlands through this initiative. Hundreds of students will be given a great insight into the world of higher education and work, allowing them to make informed decisions for themselves regarding its appropriateness for them“.
